FRANCUZ
Bajla Francuz Przedecki was the great-grandmother of Judy Muratore. Bajla had 4 siblings: Avrum, David, Jocheil, and Freyda. Jocheil sponsored Jurek to get to the U.S. after the war and Freyda married and divorced Leiser Opoczyski emigrated to the U.S. before the war and settled in New Jersey. Avrum and David perished in the Holocaust. Bajla died from complications of a stroke before the war. The parents of Bajla and siblings were Chaim Wolfe and Rajzl (Cieplisnski) Francuz.

Jurek [nee Israel Josef] Francuz, son of Avrum and Doba Francuz, escaped from Klodawa with his first cousin Michael Przedecki. The two survived the war in Siberia and settled in the U.S., and are two of the last surviving eyewitnesses of the German invasion of Klodawa. The two have been crucial is supplying the information about Klodawa for this research project, and have been my inspiration to begin and see this project through to the end. Jurek lost his entire family in the Holocaust
